Every form, done

A missing page can cost you the job. We prepare the paperwork. You sign it and submit it.

These are commonly required on Ohio public bids. What each job needs depends on the job and the bid packet. We follow the packet for every bid.

  • Bid form, filled in the way the packet asks
  • Addenda acknowledgment, so every change is signed for
  • Bid guaranty: a bid bond or other guaranty on many public construction jobs (ORC 153.54)
  • Non-collusion affidavit
  • Personal property tax affidavit (ORC 5719.042) (often due after award, before the contract is signed)
  • Declaration Regarding Material Assistance to a terrorist organization, where required (ORC 2909.33)
  • Findings for recovery check (ORC 9.24)
  • Prevailing wage paperwork, where it applies (ORC Chapter 4115)
  • Equal employment opportunity paperwork, where it applies
  • Drug-free workplace program proof, where required
  • W-9
  • Insurance certificates
  • References and past work list

Bonds and insurance come from your own surety and insurance agent. We tell you what the bid needs and when.

Veteran contractors: use your edge

Founded by a veteran. If you are a veteran, or you hire veterans, Ohio can give your bid an edge.

Ohio's Veteran-Friendly Business Enterprise certification gives certified businesses a 5% preference when Ohio state agencies compare bids. This can include construction contracts.

Example: you bid $100,000. The state scores it as $95,000. If you win, you are paid the full $100,000.

Ways to qualify (any one)

  • At least 10% of your employees are veterans
  • At least 51% veteran ownership
  • At least 51% of your board are veterans
  • Federal veteran-owned or service-disabled veteran-owned status

What we do

We help you with the certification paperwork. Then we flag the bids where your edge applies.

Federal contracts are different. Some federal jobs are set aside for veteran-owned and service-disabled veteran-owned businesses only.

Ohio's program is a scoring preference, not a set-aside. No Ohio jobs are reserved for veterans. It applies to state agency contracts. Cities, counties, townships and schools are not required to give a preference. You must be certified by the bid due date. Program run by Ohio Development under ORC 122.925. This is general information, not legal advice.
